Making, maturing, and mobilizing disciples.
We are called to share God’s love by the power of His kingdom in creative and relevant ways influencing our community and world, resulting in disciples who love Christ. Jesus’ command to lay down our lives in love and service for one another is our primary motivation for ministering in Destination Church Phoenix. At DCP, we want every member to be serving in some way. Serving is the most practical way to show our love for one another. We express this by helping care for the children of others, or being an usher, or tending to the church building of the Lord’s house, or in a multitude of other opportunities to love and serve.
Dennis planted DCP (then VCF Phoenix) over 30 years ago. He has served as the Senior Pastor of DCP, ministered extensively internationally, and currently, serves as Lead apostle and pat of Destination Church Phoenix, Destination Church Belfast (Ireland), and Compasión Church in Veracruz Mexico. In his free time, he likes to restore historic machines and equipment.
Megan is a wife, and mother of four, and has a passion for worship and prophetic ministry. Having served in worship ministry for the last 10 years, in conjunction with a decade of youth ministry she loves people and loves Jesus. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family, write songs, and renovate her home.
We know that our highest priority must be to worship God. We intend to worship in Spirit and truth. We’ve discovered that corporate worship has a destination: the Spirit of Christ among us, which results in our transformation. We desire Spirit-enabled worship in a style that is intimate, dynamic, culture-current, and life-changing.
Because we value community, we seek to develop real, transparent, intimate, and enabling Christian relationships built on Christ's love. We also commit to mutual responsibility and faithfulness in developing and maintaining our faith community.
As a church, we want to hear the word of God taught in a practical and inspiring way, in conjunction with His current prophetic word. We train for the purpose of releasing every Christian to exercise and express the Kingdom of God on earth today.
We know that teaching gives us the theory of God's principles. We also know that we need training which moves us from theory to practical application of God's Word. Jesus trained others by modeling His ministry before them, and then released them to do what He did. Our intention is the same.
Jesus commanded us to do the works that He did. We value people over and above programs. Consequently, we have chosen to invest our resources in Kingdom efforts of ministry to people, and seek opportunities to express the power of the Holy Spirit.
